Frontiersman Daniel Boone (George O'Brien) resides in 1775 Kentucky where the territory is exploding with expansion from settlers heading west. Boone tries to maintain the peace between the newly-arrived settlers and the local Native Americans who are being stirred up by Simon Girty (John Carradine), a white settler who opposes further settlement of the territory. Boone also has to contend with Stephen Marlowe (Ralph Forbes), a Richmond gentleman who wishes to seize title to all the land in the territory and also try to take the affections of Boone's sweetheart, Virginia Randolph (Heather Angel).
